Slantwise Design was founded in 2003. After an idyllic childhood and an awkward adolescence, we have blossomed into a skilled, stable, emotionally mature consulting firm.

Our Founders

Jonathan Dahl

Jonathan Dahl co-founded Slantwise Design in 2003. He started using Ruby on Rails in 2005, and since then, he has led development of more than a dozen Rails applications. Other interests include usability, startups, and kickball. Jon presented at RailsConf 2007 and helped found the Ruby Users of Minnesota, one of the strongest Ruby user groups in the country. He blogs at http://railspikes.com.

Todd Emmel

Todd Emmel co-founded Slantwise Design in 2003. Prior to that, he was a web developer at dot-bust startup. He writes CSS and Ruby on Rails, manages projects, enforces usability, and thinks that waterfall project management is making a comeback.

Our People

Norm Orstad

Norm is a web designer that discovered the joys of CSS accidentally in 2004. He hasn’t looked back since and he is pretty sure that he can tell the difference between RGB and CMYK. He is one of the few NASCAR fans that has been to an opera.

Eric Chapweske

Eric Chapweske is a Ruby on Rails enthusiast with a passion for developing exceptional user experiences. When not dreaming in Ruby, Eric can probably be found in a kitchen perfecting his Korean cooking skills.
